Instead of metal wires and brackets, Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners, each custom-made to fit over your teeth. Every aligner is a little different from the last, so with each one your teeth move gently and gradually into place.

Straighter, a little at a time

Each aligner is shaped a little ahead of your teeth, and they move gently into it. Choose what to straighten and watch it happen, or slide through the treatment yourself.

When there isn’t quite enough room, teeth overlap, twist and push in or out of line. Aligners make room and guide each one back into place.
Aligners gently close the spaces between teeth, a little with each one, until your teeth sit snugly side by side.
Some teeth are turned or leaning, even when there’s room for them. Invisalign treats a wide range of teeth-straightening conditions, including crossbites, overbites, underbites and open bites.

Wear your aligners 20 to 22 hours a day for the best results, taking them out only to eat, brush and floss. The model is an illustration: your own plan sets how many aligners you’ll need.

Your Invisalign journey

From your first visit to your finished smile, here’s what to expect.

Your first consultation
We’ll talk about your orthodontic needs and check whether Invisalign treatment is right for you.
Your custom treatment plan
A scanner such as the iTero® digital scanning system takes fast, precise 3D images of your teeth, with no messy impressions. We map out the exact movements of your teeth and how long treatment will take, and you’ll even get to preview your new smile.
Your clear aligners
Your aligners are custom-made from Invisalign’s SmartTrack® material. Wear them 20 to 22 hours a day, taking them out only to eat, brush and floss.
Your progress
As you wear each set, your teeth gently and gradually shift into place. You may begin a new set every week, with a checkup with us every six weeks or so.
Keeping your new smile
When your treatment is complete, ask us about a Vivera® retainer, custom-made with the same state-of-the-art technology as your aligners.
